Brand Awareness Service!

We now offer a free brand awareness service!!….so what does it all mean??

Brand awareness is all about getting your product/brand/name/company out there and known to as many people as possible. So we want to help you do this by offering a free service tailored to your business, among the areas that we will cover are;

• Full background information on your company/industry
• background on any campaigns you have coming up
• look into your target audience
• look at how certain promotional products and workwear would work within your company or campaign
• the outcome of the project
• the longevity of products in relation to your company/campaign
• available budgets

Promotional products are widely used for marketing campaigns, as well as to thank customers or introduce a new product or service that you offer. It has been found that promotional products generate sales and can often be a constant reminder of your company – take a look on your desk, do you have pens, mugs, USB’s etc from suppliers – in a recent market research survey conducted, it revealed that over half of respondents purchased from companies that were branded on a piece of merchandise on their desk!

The popularity of promotional products has an increasing presence in marketing and let’s face it everyone loves a free gift.

Workwear is also an excellent way of getting your name out there and to create a corporate identity. Aside from the fact that it looks smart for everyone to be all wearing the same uniform every time a member of your staff is out of the office your brand is being seen…Free advertising! Inside the workplace it sets aside the clients from your staff and creates a sense of being part of ‘the team’

With this is mind getting the right products for your business is vital – so for some top tips, give us a call and we will be happy to come and show you what we have to offer.

PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS ARE PARAMOUNT

After a landmark study from the American Advertising Speciality Institute (ASI) we can reveal that promotional products beat prime-time TV, radio and print advertising as the most cost-effective advertising medium available.

The study showed that advertising specialities are less expensive per impression than most other media and a very affordable end effective method when compared to other forms of media.  The study also included new demographic information on politics, ethnicity, gender and age as knowing the likely recipient of the promotional product is paramount for the provider.

Key Findings:

  • COST – one of the main findings was the cost per impression compared to other media.  For a modest investment, small companies can obtain the type of exposure normally reserved for larger companies with bigger advertising budgets.
  • PRODUCTS – with regards to product usage bags have the highest number of impressions per month.  With current global awareness of the importance of reusing and recycling and the need for people to save, bags are a perfect way for advertisers to spread their message and get their brand noticed.
  • GENDER PREFERENCES – males are more likely to own shirts and caps while females are more likely to have pens, bags and calenders.  Knowing the demographics of the promotional product user is vital when choosing products that would be given to your clients.
  • INFLUENING USER OPINIONS – respondents of the study said that their opinion of the advertiser was more favourable after receiving a promotional product.  As the promotional products benefit is clear to the end-user, they are more aware of the provider on the item and therefore they are able to create a positive impression as they find value in the product each time they use it.
  • RE-USING & RECYCLE – it is important to note the ‘pass-along’ value that a promotional product has especially with the global recycling trend.  not only does the product have an impact on the person who directly receives it but also on everyone who sees it, along with the message being reinforced everytime  the item is used.  No other form of media can allow the advertiser to so closely tie a benefit to the recipient.  Due to the mass coverage that promotional products can have statistics show that marketers get a more favourable return on investment from advertising specialities then almost any other popular media, with low costs per impression, high recall among those who receive items and increased intent among recipients to make purchase from the advertiser.

In summery the study shows that one of the most cost effective ways to promote your business or brand is through the use of promotional products as they are a cheap, effective and re-useable metod of advertising.  we can also see that the end user demographics are important when choosing which promotional products to use as well as knowing which products have a longer life span through re-use.

At Custom Planet we can provide a huge range of promotional merchandise from clothing to pens, stress balls, bags, Frisbee’s, mugs and much more.  With over 60,000 products on our website I’m sure you will find something that’s suits your brand as well as the demographic of your customers.

The best Marketing Products for YOU!

Companies and organisations that buy promotional items usually take a while to work out what is going to work best for them. We understand that it can be difficult so we have decided to give you some tips to help you on your way;

You first need to think about who you are targeting and why? There are generally two types of promotional product…the first works all year round and will sit on a desk and be used every day.  The second type is more suited for one off campaigns specific to the time of year or product that you may be trying to promote.

Once you have established this who you are targeting, look at your market and the product which you would like to use to promote yourself. What is the longevity of the product? How useful is it? How often will it remind your customers/potential customers about you and your product?

Make sure you select a promotional item that can be connected to your product or service in some way. This may not be always possible due to price constraints. However, if you do see such an option, then it should be at the top of your list.

The promotional item that you choose should be something that will stay out of peoples desk drawers or cupboards. It needs to be seen by the user as well as everyone else that visits them. Edible items (Chocolate Bars!) have the shortest visibility period – although they DO have a great impact for your current customers who know you well, they won’t be sitting on a desk long enough to give you maximum exposure when trying to get into POTENTIAL customers!

Whichever item you go for make sure you don’t select items that are cheap/tacky looking because it will reflect your brand name and reputation. The quality of the product selected will be compared with the quality of your products or services even though there may be no direct link between the two.

Think about what you would be happy to have as free gift. If you are not going to appreciate the free gift yourself then do not expect your target audience to appreciate your give away promotional item.

When it comes to colours try to go for a product that will remind potential customers of your logo, products or services. Click here to view our article on what your brand colours say about you!

You will always be able to pick promotional items that will fit well within your budget. You just need to put a little thought into the selection process. All promotional products are useful, you just have to weigh up your budget with what works for you on any given marketing campaign.

Quick Tips

Your promotional item need not be an expensive one but it should be a highly useful item.

You should be able to print the brand name clearly on your promotional item. The whole purpose of using promotional items is to promote one’s brand name.

Be aware (not BEWARE!) of choosing items that can break easily such as glass items. This can reduce the span of your brand promotion.

Think about the product and how it fits with your target audience.  You may send out 500 printed pens to potential customers. How many pens do they already have? Do they ever read what’s on the pen? How likely is it that the pen will be lost or broken?  On the other hand, has anyone ever thrown away a USB stick, a stapler or a mug? How often will these products be used? How often will people see your logo/information? Will it get passed around the office?

When looking at promoting your business the cheapest option is not always the most cost effective, PROMOTIONS SHOULD NOT BE A COST, IT SHOULD BE AN INVESTMENT.
